What is Photo Retouching?
Photo retouching requires using a photo editing software to remove imperfections or adjust the color of an image. It can involve any of the following: applying filters or gradients, converting an image to black and white, cropping, removing blemishes, or adjusting brightness, color balance, contrast, curves, exposure, hue, levels, saturation, and vibrance.
Take the image above for example. Before I edited the photo, the cheetah appeared blurry and washed out. During the retouching process, I applied a filter and made adjustments to brightness, color balance, contrast, levels, and vibrance. As a result, the cheetah now looks sharp and displays vibrant coloring.
